Legend Brands manufactures a broad range of dehumidifiers, air movers, structural drying systems, and air scrubbers for use in restoration, industrial drying, cleaning, and maintenance. Inventory management and production operations create a highly active environment within the facility. Therefore, this warehouse requires a balance of consistent safety and operational efficiency.
The production facility in Burlington, Washington is responsible for finished goods manufacturing for Dri-Eaz, and their facility needed to manage this balance of safety and efficiency carefully.
“Years ago we invested in metal cages to prevent inventory from falling in the facility,” said Scott Welch, Materials Supervisor. “The problem was that it took our team nine hours to install these safety cages on three racking systems.”
In order to remain efficient in their inventory management processes, Welch needed to find a way to cut the time spent installing new safety materials in the facility. That’s when John Maley with STOR-TEC USA INC. stepped in to see what warehouse safety equipment could provide a cost-effective solution.
Welch decided to install a small sample of Adrian’s Rack Safety Nets in the Burlington facility.
“We were able to install the same amount of safety netting in 30 minutes that used to take us nine hours with the metal caging,” said Welch. “We also saved thousands of dollars in the process.”
After that, the Burlington facility installed 14 of Adrian’s Rack Safety Nets. Other Legend Brands production facilities are now quickly adopting the safety nets as well.
“One of our production facilities will be almost entirely protected by Adrian’s Rack Safety Nets,” said Welch.
